  i am sick and tired of people putting down posters like the andersons!

  they work hard to expose some things we might never have known about.

  why some find fault with them, or ray franz before them, or maximus when he was here is beyond me.. be thankful for those that decide to come here and share what they know about this organization.. we get elders who are still in their positions and they share with us a lot of interesting news and perspectives.

  What is the soul?

  having been religious i often searched for evidence agreeing with my point of view.

  i have since left my religion, because of the vast amount of evidence against it, but there are still two concepts that boggle my mind: the beginning of time, and the soul.. my understanding of what the soul is, is not a ghost that floats around, scaring people at night.

  it is you, the thing that makes you alive, that allows you to experience pain and happiness, and differentiates you from a robot.. perhaps you're believe that pain and happiness are merely electrical signals travelling around in your brain, which i think is partly correct, but i will share some examples as to why i think it isn't that simple.. i don't think of humans as being their bodies.

  it's not generally unethical to inflict pain on someone. think dentist, s&m, accupuncture etc.

  yes, it is simply a message from nerve to brain. the brain will interpret the message, order some hormons to do their job or sometimes even shut down for a while.

  why wouldn't a robot "feel" pain? pain is just some information sent to the main processing unit. it just comes down to programming it. we are all biochemical robots really.

  but when i get you right you say the soul is conciousness. don't really know what conciousness is and if there's a way to copy or distribute it. it's one of those "secrets" we still have to explore, i guess.

  it's everybody's right to post partially sensationalist articles and it's equally everybody's right to not buy all of it. it arguably may also be everybody's right to go stampede and personally attack the few unbelievers. some people just like to "follow those who take the lead" and some are more individualistic in nature.

  where are the people critizising mrs. anderson? all i see is very few who are in favor of discussing a topic instead of just acknowledging it, and a whole bunch of people who follow some sort of idol they made for their "cause", whatever that cause is.

  where do the flames come from? i don't know why minimus even started this thread... there simply was no putting down in the original thread. but it seems like when some of the higher up exJWs are posting, all you may do is just nod.

  humans are to ants what god is to humans..... at least, that is how i see it.. ants can't know humans or entertain theories and ideas or myths about humanity.. if we step on an anthill they don't mourn and bury their dead and send prayers up to us.. we are just one more thing they have to deal with.. humans don't become an ant and live among them and die at their bidding only to rise and save a few for later reward.. humans don't help a select few ants write a wonderful and inspiring ant bible to enlighten and bond with us.. ants are extremely different from humans and the twain simply don't meet.

  we barely tolerate their existence!.

  but, we humans are convinced god is a guy in the sky.

  i also always wondered how some people would know more about god than me. one day i just didn't buy it anymore. most who think they know god are either mislead, on drugs or have a mental issue.

  after all, god is not necessary. at least not that retarded apathetic god most christians seem to believe in.

  My GF Told Me She Got Invited To Go To Dinner By A Very Nicely Dressed Man

  get this: she called me up to tell me a well dressed man came to her house and actually invited her for dinner, a "meal" at the local kingdom hall on the memorial evening.. he gave her the invitation to enjoy the meal with him and quite a few other people on the night the "meal" was being served.. i explained to her that the dinner only consisted of wine and unleavened bread and that she could only watch the bread and wine being passed but if she got a hold of the plate or the cup she had to just give it the next person.. she asked, "you mean there's no dinner like he said?

  " i answered there was not.

  and she said, "then forget it then!"..
